Reef diving gear

While wearing reef diving gear is non-negotiable while you are scuba diving, that does not mean that you need to pay a lot of money for the gear that you use.

Whether you do your shopping in the store, on the Net or from any other place, there are certain items that you will absolutely need to have.

Because your safety is the number one concern when scuba diving, it may be better to not buy used gear, but instead buy gear that us brand new. The new gear has been tested and is guaranteed to work properly. Although the used gear may have been in great shape once upon a time, that does not mean it is still in such great shape when you purchase it.

Some of the most important scuba gear (reef diving gear) is:
• Oxygen tank – This goes without saying. If you plan to dive for more than a few seconds at a time, an oxygen tank is a must. But you must learn the safety rules associated with these tanks before you try to use one. Using them without knowledge can be fatal. Tanks should be tested before every dive to make sure they work properly.
• Mask – Although you could live without a mask on your eyes, you would not be able to see anything, which defeats the purpose.

There are other things such as wetsuits you should have, but these two items are probably the most important, along with regulators and mouthpieces.
